VIDEO: NCCU book bag drive provides school supplies to local students

September 21, 2016

On Sept. 17th, N.C. Central University hosted its 11th Annual Book Bag Drive.

This year’s recipients were Fayetteville Street Elementary, Burton Elementary, C.C. Spaulding Elementary, W.G. Pearson Elementary, R. N. Harris and Eastway Elementary.

Dozens of students and volunteers flooded the halls of the Miller Morgan building carrying school supplies. Book bags were filled to the brim with pencils, notebooks, markers and other school supplies.

After the bags were filled, all the donors entered the auditorium where principals and representatives from each elementary school offered their appreciation. In total, 140 bags were donated.

Special thanks to Karen Villanueva-Sierra and Shayla Holeman for contributing to this video report.
