NCCU Alumna Desmera Gatewood discussed black women’s strengths and weaknesses at the Black Girl Magic event on Thursday night in Baynes Residence Hall. Gatewood, a Black Lives Matter activist, said it is important for black women to know how magical they are even if the world doesn’t show them.
